About me

DB Nahalea, LPC

I believe many of the struggles we face are deeply connected to our experiences, relationships, family systems, and the environments that shaped us.

I collaborate with individuals navigating trauma, relationship challenges, generational patterns, cultural experiences, and major life transitions. Whether you are processing past experiences, feeling stuck, or trying to find purpose in your life, therapy can provide a place for reflection, healing, and meaningful transformation.

This is not about “fixing” a problem, but rather understanding your story, reinforcing your strengths, promote behaviors that reflect personal values, and live a life worth living.

My Experience

My professional journey has been shaped by a passion for supporting individuals and strengthening communities. Over the years, I have worked directly with individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges in community-based settings. This experience has provided me with a deep understanding of the complexities people face and the importance of compassionate, evidence based care tailored to each person’s unique story.

In addition to my clinical work, I’m an adjunct professor at Boise State University’s psychology department. Teaching has allowed me to mentor future professionals while staying engaged with current research and best practices that emphasize emphatic critical thinking, and practical application.
